Racing and Educational games on the iPad

One of the biggest features of the iPad is and will be for Gaming.

Although the iPhone and iPod touch devices already had quite awesome games, the screensize and processor speed was a limiting factor.

With the iPad’s large screen display and immaculate responsiveness playing games becomes a joy.

The high resolution display and vibrant colors surpass all mobile devices I’ve seen so far.

Examples of great Games on the iPad

Racing Games

Motion sensitive racing games have always been a great hit on the Apple portable devices and these will just get better on the iPad

The Video below shows Asphalt5 from Gameloft

Educational games on the iPad for Toddlers

Another strong category of games which are being developed are educational games for the iPad.

If you’ve seen the blogpost iPad in the hands of a 2.5 year old Toddler you will see how interactive these devices can be to aid in education of young ones.

Another example of an educational game is Red Fish from FreshPlanet

Educational Games on the iPad for older kids

With the video capability and ease of app creation the iPad will also start featuring educational games or programs for older kids.

One example is “rock and learn” with the appropriate Title of “The iPad and Education”

Since the iPad has only been released for a few weeks now, Im sure the best is yet to come. I’m personally involved in the education industry and Im playing with ideas on how to use the iPad not only for gaming but also for Education (or both)

iCade: iPad Arcade Cabinet Concept

iCade: iPad Arcade Cabinet Concept

Didn’t think you needed an iPad? Think again!

…the idea of a MAME cabinet came up and we knew we’d struck gold. How cool would it be to slide your iPad into a desktop-sized arcade cabinet and rock it old school with some Pac-Man or Space Invaders?

Mame games on the iPAd -I was extremely disappointed to learn this was an April 1st Joke, since I was more than willing to pay $150 for this awesome concept gadget, especially since the iPad has now been jailbroken to play Nintendo and other MAME games

iPad and iPhone OS 4.0 jailbroken « Icrontic Tech

iPad and iPhone OS 4.0 jailbrokenCompeting developers iPhone DevTeam and Geohot have announced preliminary successes in jailbreaking iPhone OS 4.0 and the iPad, respectively.

The iPhone DevTeam cracked the developer preview of iPhone OS 4.0 less than a week after its announcement at Apple’s April 8 event in Cupertino, CA. Like all jailbreaks before it, the DevTeam will eventually release an automated utility like PwnageTool for users looking to break free of Apple’s walled garden and tap into Cydia, the unofficial app store, as well as the many new and unique features made possible by an open iPhone.

We all knew the day would come, but I didn’t expect it to be so early.

Either Apple has realized that Developers and Highly Advanced users LOVE jailbreaking devices and didn’t improve their anti-jailbreaking measures, or one of the jailbreaking Gods must have an inside man.

Either way, we are glad this has happened and looking forward to testing, running and possibly breaking some apps on the new iPad.
